Searching for New RV Furniture

We’ve lived in our RV full-time going on the tenth year. We’ve entertained family & friends and with any household furniture, our RV furniture was definitely showing a lot of wear. We had replaced our two European recliners with ottomans with a theater room recliner and even though we paid over $1,000 for it, it was also showing wear and we just weren’t happy with it anymore. Plus I wanted a second chair. The only reason we didn’t like the original recliners was the Ottomans always seemed to be in the way.

Our original piece of furniture which we still had was a jackknife sofa. It looked awful. (We checked and to have it replaced by the same company was going to be over $3,000, way more than we wanted to pay. What I loved about it was, it had storage underneath and it made out into a bed, even though one side of the bed was very uncomfortable. 😊

So we started our search probably 5 years ago. We went to Indiana to check all the RV places there. There was nothing we liked in the right length. We visited a place in California when we were there and also their warehouse in Texas.  They had mostly theater furniture on display and we just weren’t sure about the quality or if we liked their styles. We looked at Thomas Payne and a lot of other furniture places. Through the years I, of course researched reviews on all the companies. We also checked into having it reupholstered which would have been as much as a new one.

My issue was I wanted a bed but didn’t want to lose the storage underneath the couch. I finally realized I wasn’t going to be able to find a jackknife sofa in the right length at a reasonable price. If I wanted something new I’d have to go with a shorter couch which I didn’t want to do or give up the storage. Sadly, I have to say I gave up the storage…but I’m very happy with what we got!  At different times my husband and I both had contacted RecPro for material samples.  They overall had great reviews. So we ordered the three items below in the Putty color.

RecPro Charles 80" RV Sleeper Sofa with Hide A Bed it fit perfect in the space. In fact, we thought it would be over the edge of the slide a little but it wasn’t!  I should probably also add many people now go with recliners. As an Aunt and Grandmother, I wanted a bed for my grandchildren, niece and friends to sleep on. My grandson and his wife have slept on the new one (they had on the old one too) and said this was wonderful. My two young grandsons also slept on it and said it was great!

RecPro Charles 30" RV Recliner Swivel Glider Rocker Chair – we love that it reclines, swivels and rocks. This was supposed to be my chair but my husband has taken it over!  I did tell my married grandsons I now have a rocking chair and I’m ready for my “great grandbabies”!

RecPro Charles 28" RV Euro Chair Recliner Modern RV Furniture Design

We love the results of the results of the 3 RecPro pieces. The quality, color, how they fit, comfort, we are extremely pleased!! They also recently started making Driver and Passenger Captain’s Chair’s which will be our next purchase. As I follow RecPro I’m finding out they have almost everything RV related. In fact, they are also now making custom baggage doors which I’ve seen many people searching for.

Plus, they stand by their product. We had an issue and they immediately handled it!!!
